To access your home directory (H: drive or rodin/users) or class web site, you must have a FTP program loaded on your computer. Some free ftp programs available are fetch, WSFTP, and CuteFTP; there are others. These programs are available to UCLA students from BruinOnline. Or, sites on the net like tucows or download.com.
To upload and download files to and from the class website, point your ftp program at:
rodin.cda.ucla.edu
/home/classes/www/summer2001/classname
fill in your class name as it appears in the directory you see at school, or as it appears in the URLs to the class site listed on the main index page.
The URL for viewing a typical page would be:
http://rodin.cda.ucla.edu/summer2001/classname/...
Students would typically use the directory:
/home/classes/www/summer2001/classname/students/%yourusername%
To upload and download files to and from your home directory, point your ftp program at:
rodin.cda.ucla.edu
/users/students/%yourusername%
Other users (staff, faculty, etc) may need to replace 'students' with 'staff', faculty, or some other directory.
While connecting to the server, all users should read the log window for notes about ftp access. (LogWnd in ws_ftp, our windows ftp client and 'transcript window' or messages in Fetch)
